Our story

Groupire Foundation started in 2003 when a group of Brisbane teachers noticed the after-school programs in their suburbs were closing one by one. They launched a small community raffle with a single $2,000 prize — and raised enough to keep three clubs running. Two decades later, we're still doing the same job, just on a much bigger map.

Our mission

We exist to turn shared goodwill into practical help. Every ticket you buy keeps a program running, keeps a door open, or puts a grant in the hands of an Australian who's trying to make something better for the people around them.

Who we help

Kids in out-of-home care, senior Australians living on their own, small regional sporting clubs, mental-health peer groups, and community-led environment projects. We partner with over 140 grassroots organisations so your contribution lands exactly where it's needed.

Where your ticket goes

For every $10 spent on Groupire Lottery tickets, here's where the money lands once prizes, operations and compliance are paid.

Community programs — 42%

Directly funds grants for Australian grassroots organisations: youth, seniors, mental health, rural and regional initiatives.

Prizes to ticket holders — 38%

Main draw, bonus rounds, VIP draws and 500+ additional prizes distributed each cycle to Australians across every state.

Operations & compliance — 20%

Secure ticketing, draw supervision, customer support and the regulatory requirements of running a national lottery.

Our commitments

The practical promises we keep to ticket holders and the communities we partner with.

Independent draw

Every draw is conducted under the supervision of an independent scrutineer, with ball-draw and digital results published within minutes of conclusion.

Full transparency

Our annual impact report lists every grant, every prize and every partner organisation — no fine print, no hidden line items.

Australian-first

Tickets are sold only to residents of Australia, prizes are paid in AUD, and every program we fund is based on-shore.

Safer play

We share responsible gambling tools on every page, work with AGRC, Gambler's Help and GambleAware, and apply monthly spend limits by default.

Member-first support

Real people on the phones, seven days a week — and a dedicated concierge for every major prize winner.

Carbon-conscious

Our Brisbane office runs on 100% renewable energy and we've offset every tonne of prize-delivery logistics since 2021.
