We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What information we collect

We only collect information that is necessary to run our lottery, pay prizes and support our charitable mission. This typically includes:

  • Your name, date of birth and residential address;
  • Contact details such as phone number and email;
  • Payment details processed via our PCI-DSS compliant gateway (we do not store full card numbers);
  • Transaction history of ticket purchases and VIP Club subscriptions;
  • Communication preferences and responsible-play limits;
  • Anonymous analytics data about how you use our website (such as pages visited and device type).

2. Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

  • Verify that you are 18 or over and a resident of Australia;
  • Process your ticket purchases and VIP Club subscriptions;
  • Notify you of draw results and prize wins;
  • Pay prizes to winners via their nominated Australian bank account;
  • Operate the legal, regulatory and reporting requirements placed on us as a charitable lottery operator;
  • Improve our services and communicate with you about draws, events and Groupire Foundation programs (only if you opt in).

3. How we store and protect your information

All personal information is stored on Australian-based servers operated by a Tier-4 hosting provider. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3, and sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access is restricted to authorised Groupire staff on a strict need-to-know basis, and all access events are logged and audited quarterly.

4. Who we share information with

We only share your personal information when it is necessary to provide our service or when required by law. This may include:

  • Our payment gateway provider to complete your purchase;
  • Our independent draw scrutineer for prize verification purposes;
  • Prize delivery partners (for non-cash prizes such as vehicles or travel);
  • Regulators and government bodies where we are legally required to disclose;
  • Our email and SMS service providers to send you draw updates.

We never sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in and measure site performance. Most cookies are strictly necessary. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept our cookie banner, and we use privacy-first analytics that do not identify you individually.
